Business Ethics:
What?
Where?
Why?
When?
Who?
Business Ethics in this course is reviewed following the 5 W’s + H. What, Where, Why, When, Who, and How? Through examples, case studies, and resource material, we review an overall look at business ethics, examining what it is, who it applies to when to demonstrate it, where to gather more information on compliance, and how to demonstrate good business ethics.
Whether you are the CEO of a company or you work on the front-line, good work ethics and professionalism are the characteristics of a good employee. In any workplace setting, the way an employee conducts themselves is reflected in the company they work for. Identifying and communicating desired work ethics and professional values will help ensure your company is reflected well throughout your organization, in your industry, and among your competitors. Recognition of good work ethics starts with an understanding of what conduct is not only unethical, but also crosses the line and is considered illegal as regulated by agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Department of Labor and Industry, and the Federal Trade Commission. Establishing a professional corporate culture by enacting a code of business conduct policy will set the stage for company-wide ethical business practices.
