Overview of the webinar

For years, physicians have complained that the 1995 and 1997 Evaluation and Management (E/M) guidelines are outdated and made documentation for visits to complex and time-consuming. The Paper over Paperwork Act had addressed these concerns and will implement drastic changes to the E/M guidelines for office visits beginning in 2021. Like other significant changes, anyone reporting E/M services in the office setting will have to comply with these new requirements on January 1, 2021. Practices will have to create a plan to meet the needs of their office in order to be ready to implement the new guidelines at the specified time, and this will prevent future audits and identification of overpayments.

Lynn became a CPC in 1993, and a Certified Instructor in 2002, and a Certified Orthopedic Surgery Coder in 2009.
